Meeting Natty and Reaching the Battlements
The journey begins just outside the historic ruins of Falbarton Castle, located in the northeastern section of the world map. Upon arriving at the designated location, you must speak with Natty to coordinate your infiltration strategy. Because the main gates are locked shut, your first objective requires finding an alternative path up the cliffside.
Look toward the right side of the castle wall to discover a series of broken platforms that allow you to climb up. You will need to utilize basic movement mechanics combined with standard climbing actions to reach the lower battlements safely. Keeping an eye on highlighted stone edges ensures you remain on the correct path toward the upper levels.
Solving the Gatehouse Mechanism Puzzle
Once you reach the upper platform, your progress will be temporarily blocked by a large mechanical gate structure. To clear the path, locate the interactive winch system nearby and cast Depulso multiple times to spin the mechanism. This action raises the gate barrier, but it will quickly slam down if you do not act fast.
To permanently secure the opening, look closely for a moveable crate hidden in an adjacent alcove. Pull the crate into position directly underneath the rising gate by casting the Accio charm. This strategic placement prevents the barrier from closing completely, allowing you to slide through the gap and enter the main gatehouse interior.

The final phase of the mission requires scaling the highest tower to confront the dark wizards holding magical beasts captive. You will encounter several groups of Poachers that must be dealt with using stealth or active combat spells. Utilizing Disillusionment allows you to ambush guards individually to minimize incoming damage during the climb.
At the summit of the keep, you will finally locate the majestic Hippogriff named Highwing trapped in a wooden enclosure. Untying the creature triggers a spectacular escape sequence where you fly away from the collapsing ruins alongside Natty. Completing this dramatic exit successfully finishes the quest and permanently unlocks beast mounts for future exploration across the Highlands.
